Assignment 1: Local Features and Object-Locked Video

Derive, implement, and stress-test the classical local-feature pipeline behind image matching — Harris corner detection, a compact gradient descriptor, and ratio-test matching — then use your own features to create a short object-locked video in which a target you filmed appears to stay fixed while the scene moves around it.

Assignment 2: Representations and Visual Recognition

Released September 29, 2026 · Due October 27, 2026

Implement a compact residual CNN, compare raw, hand-designed, random, and learned image representations, and investigate recognition failures. Then build a Recognition Atlas using a frozen pretrained model and three related categories of your choice.
